With a strange schedule this week, the show previews Portland’s game at Houston with Houston soccer writer Zach Woosley; in particular the introduction of BBVA Compass Stadium, Houston’s physical style and the balance between rest and a full schedule. Kelly and mao also chat about the goings on of former Timbers players, the travel plans of front office staff and give predictions on the Timbers’ game against the Dynamo.

The show attempts to explain why the Timbers played the formation and line-up they did against Montreal Impact, but fails entirely. Questions are raised about Steven Smith’s debut, whether field conditions are in any way responsible for the loss and whether or not John Spencer should be worried about his job. All told, a show of very little praise and many questions without adequate answers.

Patrick LeDuc, long-time Impact midfielder and reporter at RDS joins the show to talk about Montreal and his expectations for Saturday’s game. The question by the end of the show is whether or not John Spencer will try to create a repeat performance or shift back into a more familiar look.
